Register a Birth - Confirmation

Our Register a birth page on the solihull.gov.uk website offers details on how the registration process works. We recommend you read this before continuing.
You should register the birth of your baby within 42 days, within the registration district where your baby was born.
Your appointment will take place at The Core, Theatre Square, Solihull, B91 3RG.
Birth certificates are £12.50 each and you can request as many as you need. You can pay for these by debit or credit card when you book, or pay by cash, debit or credit card at your appointment.
In the event that anyone arriving to register a birth is more than 10 minutes late, it will not be possible for the appointment to take place and you will need to make another booking.
If you are legally married or in a registered civil partnership with the other parent to your new-born child, only one of you needs to attend the appointment to register the birth although both of you may attend if you wish.
If you are not legally married or in a registered civil partnership with the other parent to your new-born child, you must attend the appointment together if you’d both like to be recorded as parents in the register.
The Register a birth page on the Gov.uk website offers details on how the registration process works for other parental circumstances.
