Terms and Conditions
The Above Ground Vaults remain the property of Solihull Council.

The lease agreement that you are purchasing will include the exclusive rights of committal for the vault for the period of the lease. This means that you will have the exclusive rights to decide who the vault will be dedicated to and the cremated remains that will be placed within it.

The personalised inscribed granite plaque is purchased separately from the vault and can take up to 8 weeks to be manufactured.

When a motif or photograph is included the engraver may have to adjust the position of the inscription to accommodate it.

Should you wish to alter the inscription within the agreement period, a replacement can be purchased.

The areas around the vaults must not be decorated with items such as vases, flower containers, ornaments or wind chimes, these will be removed by the cemetery.

Items must not be placed on top of the vaults as this will damage the granite. Any costs associated with the repair of such damage will be passed onto the lease holder.

Vaults are allocated on a plan and the final position of all vaults is at the discretion of the Manager.

Solihull Council reserves the right to amend the Cemetery and Crematorium Regulations, the design and the position of the vaults without notice to lease holders.

If you change your name, address or email during the period of the lease it is your responsibility to notify the cemetery.

At the end of your 20 year lease you will be offered the option to renew the lease for a specified period.

The plaque and cremated remains will be removed from the vault if the option to renew the lease is not taken up.

If the purchaser or a member of the purchaser’s family/executor cannot be contacted within 12 months of the expiry of the lease, the ashes within the vault will be scattered and laid to rest in the Gardens of Remembrance at the Cemetery and the cemetery register will be amended to record this.
